Calligraphy

Each calligraphic artwork is created by hand, honouring historic lettering traditions while presenting them through a contemporary perspective. The collection is informed by Dutch graphic heritage originals by A.L Witsel -including the expressive visual language associated with the Sjors en Sjimmie comic tradition- reinterpreted as original works of art rather than reproductions. Produced for collectors, designers and lovers of typography, these works demonstrate how craftsmanship, history and modern composition can coexist within a single artistic practice.
